Ukraine’s renewables sector is attracting unprecedented levels of investment in large-scale projects with major domestic business groups being joined by international strategic investors from Norway, Canada, the UK and Spain, amongst others.
The Ukrainian banking system has undergone unprecedented changes in the last few years: the number of institutions has halved, a challenging reform process has made impressive progress and the clean-up, which included the nationalisation of the country’s largest lender, PrivatBank, has left the state with a major stake in the sector, which it is committed to decreasing through a series of part-privatisations and acquisitions of stakes by international partners.
